ADAM VAN DER ZANT

Freddy’s has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was consistently eager to head out with Dad (Mick) on weekends or during school holidays – paint brush in hand – keen to be involved in any way I could. I’ve always been close with my old man and my family and knew from a young age this was the path I wanted to follow.

 

After finishing school, I spent a few months considering my future, but it wasn’t long before I knew exactly where I wanted to be. In June 2013, I started my apprenticeship and officially joined the family business. Since then, I have worked closely with Dad to refine my skills in both the trade and the business side of Freddy’s.

In 2024, after Dad retired, I stepped into the role as Managing Director – marking the third generation of our family to lead the company. Over 50 years, three generations, one family—we’ve built a business based on hard work, trust, and strong relationships.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep growing Freddy’s. I want to take on bigger commercial projects while staying grounded in the kind of personal, residential work that built our reputation. That connection with our clients has always set us apart, and I’ll continue to carry that forward. I’m proud of where we’ve come from—and even more excited about where we’re going.
